Vision Statement
Share the love of Jesus Christ to all.
Core Beliefs
We believe that Jesus was sent by God, was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and died a perfect sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the grave and now sits at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of the Father and is the primary source for how we should live our lives. (Matthew 24:35, Colossians 3:16)
We believe that God calls us to be disciples spreading his love and saving grace to all people. (Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe that the gift of salvation cannot be earned but is ours only if we accept Jesus as our personal savior. (John 14:6)
Our History
IMPACT Ministries of Central Florida was founded in 1998 by Chad Garmon after seeing a need to give youth an opportunity to work right in their own community. Chad had worked with many hurting people in many different places but never in his own hometown. After realizing that the main reason for this was the absence of any type of home repair program for youth; IMPACT was born. Since then we have grown to offer mission opportunities during both the spring and summer months. Now youth from across the United States come to be of service for our Lord in one of the greatest vacation spots in the world. IMPACT’s main purpose is to give young people an avenue to fulfill God’s Great Commission by putting their faith into action through serving the local community with minor home repair. Impact gives an opportunity for individual lives to be changed through Christian service activities. Your youth will work with hurting people who need to see the love and light that only Jesus can bring to their lives. IMPACT was born as an outreach of Sanlando UMC in Longwood, Florida. We have provided mission opportunities to many different churches and denominations making us truly interdenominational organization.
Who will we help at IMPACT?
According to the 2005-2010 Orange County, FL, Consolidated Plan, the Orange County Housing and Community Development rehabilitation program maintains a list of 800 persons who cannot afford necessary home repairs. Since our inception, we have helped create a safer living environment through home repair for 232 poor households in five Central Florida counties although this is a fraction of those needing repair, we are grateful for the support allowing us to continue to serve as many people as possible. As our community grows and ages, there is a growing need for our services, which are necessary to help stabilize a home for the elderly or disabled--some with household incomes of $10,000 or less. Others cannot afford to move out of a home in need of repair due to the skyrocketing costs of housing in Central Florida.
What type of ministry will we participate in?
You will help residents by performing:
- Interior and exterior painting
- Repairing Damaged Wood
- Building porches or wheelchair ramps
- Roof Repairs
- Drywall
- Minor Plumbing Repairs
- Debris removal
